Elena Pietrini

Elena Pietrini is an Italian volleyball player who plays as a wing spiker for the Italian national team and the Serie A1 volleyball club Savino Del Bene Scandicci.

Elena Pietrini was born on March 17, 2000, in Imola, Italy. She was born to a family of a basketball father and a volleyball mother and started playing volleyball at an early age. Elena Pietrini was part of the youth national team which emerged as runners-up to Russia at the 2017 Girls’ U18 Volleyball European Championship. She was also a key member of the Italian U18 team which won the 2017 FIVB Volleyball Girls’ U18 World Championship. For her tremendous performance during the 2017 FIVB Volleyball U18 World Championship, Elena Pietrini was awarded the MVP of the tournament. She also participated in the 2017 FIVB Volleyball Women’s U20 World Championship where Italy finished in ninth position.

Elena Pietrini started her professional career in the 2016/2017 season. She played for the Volleyro Casal de Pazzi in the Italian Serie B1. After one season in the team, she moved up and signed with Club Italia Crai to play in Italian Serie A2. In her maiden season with the club, Club Italia Crai qualified for Serie A1 and Elena Pietrini played the season 2018/2019 in the highest level of Italian volleyball. Meanwhile, she was part of the Italian national team at the 2018 FIVB Volleyball Women’s Nations League. She was also a member of the Italian squad which emerged as runner-up to Serbia at the 2018 FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship.

In 2019, Elena Pietrini signed with Savino Del Bene Scandicci, which was one of the top European volleyball teams. With the club, she won the bronze medals at the Italian Supercup in 2020/2021 and won the European Challenger Cup in 2021/2022. She also competed at the 2019 FIVB Volleyball Women’s Nations League. Elena Pietrini was part of the national side which claimed a bronze medal at the 2019 Montreux Volley Masters.
