Kirsten Knip is a Dutch volleyball player for the German team Rote Raben Vilsbiburg and the Dutch national team. She participated in the 2017 Women’s European Volleyball Championship and the 2019 FIVB Volleyball Women’s Nations League. She won the national title in 2013 with Sliedrecht Sport and the Supercup with TVC Amstelveen.
Kirsten Knip was born on January 14, 1992, in Enkhuizen, Netherlands. She started in volleyball at an early age and proved her skills in school. Kirsten Knip started playing for the youth team of Madjoe in 2002, where she stayed until she switched to Simokos in 2007.
In 2008, she started a professional career for TT Papendal Arnhem. She stayed in the club for two seasons.
In 2010, Kirsten Knip started playing at TVC Amstelveen, winning the Dutch Supercup and finishing third at the Dutch Eredivisie. The team competed at the Challenge Cup as well, finishing 32nd.
She signed with Alterno in 2011 and after one season moved to Sliedrecht Sport, where won the Dutch Supercup and the Dutch Eredivisie. Also, she competed in the Challenge Cup and CEV Cup.
In 2014, Kirsten Knip signed with the French volleyball team Istres Provence Volley. In her only season with the club, she played at the French Cup and French Ligue A.
In 2015, she moved to Germany and signed with Rote Raben Vilsbiburg. During the 2015/2016 season, the team finished 9th in German Cup, 7th in German Bundesliga and 9th in Challenge Cup.
After only one season she moved to another German club – Ladies in Black Aachen. With the team she played three seasons, reaching the bronze in the German Cup and the 9th place in Challenge Cup.
In 2019, Kirsten Knip signed with the Romanian volleyball team CSM Volei Alba-Blaj. For one season in the club, she won the Romanian League.
In 2020, she returned to the Netherlands to play for her old team Sliedrecht Sport. She helped the team to win the Dutch Eredivisie and to finish 5th at the Dutch Cup. The team also was 17th in the Challenge Cup.
Kirsten Knip returned to France again in 2021 to play for SF Paris Saint-Cloud for one season, before moving again to Rote Raben Vilsbiburg in 2022.
At the international level, Kirsten Knip plays for the Dutch national youth teams since 2008. In total, she played 60 matches as a youth player for the national team. In 2012 she took part in the qualifying series of the 2023, European Championship with the senior national team, and since then is the most important part of the team.
