Samanta Fabris is a Croatian volleyball player, who plays as an opposite hitter for the Turkish club Eczacibasi Dynavit and Croatia women’s national volleyball team. She is twice runner-up at the Champions League, as well as gold medalist at the FIVB Challenger Cup 2022, where was awarded as Best Opposite and MVP.
Samanta Fabris was born on February 8, 1992, in Pula, Croatia. She started in volleyball at an early age in her hometown, where developed her skills and gained experience.
Samanta Fabris made her professional debut in 2008 for the Croatian volleyball club ZOK Rijeka to play in the Croatian League. During her maiden season, she was sent under loan to the Italian volleyball team Famila Chieri, but later returned to Croatia to play for ZOK Rijeka for the next 3 seasons until 2012. During that time, she won the Croatian League every single season, as well as Croatian Cup in 2009/2010. She also played in the Champions League and Challenge Cup, won the bronze medals at the MEVZA in 2009/2010, and finished twice as runner-up at the Croatian Cup.
In 2012, she returned again to Italy to play for Duck Farm Chieri Torino Volley Club. She played one season with the club, finishing at 6th position in the Italian Serie A1 and 5th in the Italian Cup.
In 2013, Samanta Fabris signed with Liu Jo Modena to win bronze medals at the Italian Cup in her maiden season and silver in 2014/2015. The team also performed strongly at the Italian Serie A1, finishing 6th and 5th, respectively. During the season, she won the bronze at the Mediterranean Games with the Croatia women’s national volleyball team.
Samanta Fabris signed with Igor Gorgonzola Novara in 2015. For one season in the club, she played at the Champions League and CEV Cup, finished 6th in the Italian Serie A1 and 5th in the Italian Cup. The team also played in the Italian Supercup but lost the final.
In 2016, she moved to the reigning Champions League winner Pomì Casalmaggiore. During the season 2016/2017, Samanta Fabris and her volleyball club won silver at the Club World Championship and bronze at the CEV Cup. At the local championship, they finished 4th in the Italian Serie A1 and 5th in the Italian Cup. She also played beach volleyball for a while, competing at the World Tour Porec 2016 with Sara Radanovic.
Samanta Fabris joined the Italian Cup winner Imoco Volley Conegliano in 2017 for 2 seasons. in the 2017/2018 season, the team became champion of the Italian Serie A1, was the runner-up at the Italian Cup, and won the bronze at the Champions League. During the 2018/2019 season, they performed even better, winning the Italian Serie A1 again, being the runner-up at the Italian Cup, winning the silver medals of the Champions League, and winning the Italian Supercup. During the season, she became the champion of the Mediterranean Games and a runner-up of the European Golden League with the Croatia women’s national volleyball team.
After her successful contracts in Italy, Samanta Fabris moved to Russia and signed with Dinamo-Ak Bars for two seasons. In her maiden season, the volleyball club made a double, winning Russian Superleague and Russian Cup. With the Croatian national team, she won the silver at the European Golden League 2021. During the second season, they won the Russian Cup and the Russian SuperCup, as well as the Cup of the Governor of the Tula region. They remained third in the Russian Superleague and second in the Cup of the Governor of the Kaliningrad region. At the European level, Samanta Fabris and her teammates played in the Champions League but remained only 11th.
In 2022, Samanta Fabris signed with her current team, the Turkish Eczacibasi Dynavit. The team played in the final of the Champions League but remained second. They also remained third at the Club World Championship. Internationally, she became a gold medalist at the FIVB Challenger Cup 2022, where was awarded as Best Opposite and MVP.
