Stefana Veljkovic is a Serbian volleyball player for the Italian club Igor Gorgonzola Novara and the Serbian national team. She plays as a middle blocker and achieved her greatest success with the Serbian national team at the Olympics in Rio when she won a silver medal. Among the achievements of Stefana Veljkovic are also the World Championships gold at 2018 Japan and twise European Championships gold at 2017 Azerbaijan and 2019 Turkey. She also won the Champions League in 2018/2019 with the Italian team Igor Gorgonzola Novara.
Stefana Veljkovic was born on January 9, 1990, in Svetozarevo, SR Serbia, SFR Yugoslavia. She started playing volleyball at an early age and showed her great abilities for the team OK Jagodina and the youth team of Postar 064 Belgrade. She has won various of awards during her youth career.
Stefana Veljkovic made her professional debut in 2006 for Postar 064 Belgrade, winning the Serbian Championship and Serbian Cup in her maiden professional season. The team repeated the double success during the next two years 2007 and 2008.
In 2008 she signed with OK Crvena Zvezda, playing two seasons for the volleyball team. In her first season with OK Crvena Zvezda, the team finished second in the Serbian Championship and was the runner-up at the Serbian Cup, but in the second season won both trophies, as well as being a runner-up at the CEV Cup.
In 2010, Stefana Veljkovic signed with the Italian volleyball club AGIL Volley Trecate. In her maiden season for the team, AGIL Volley Trecate finished fourth in the Champions League and was the runner-up in the Italian Supercup, but in the second season failed to make significant progress in the Italian Cup and Italian Serie A1, finishing 5th and 8th, respectively.
Stefana Veljkovic signed with Asystel MC Carnaghi Villa Cortese for one season in 2012/2013, the runner-up of the Italian Supercup and Italian Serie A1. However, in the season 2012/2013 the team had less success and finished only 5th in the Italian Serie A1. The team player for the Champions League, finishing 8th. However, they succeeded to be runner-up at the Italian Cup and the Italian Supercup.
In 2013, Stefana Veljkovic moved to Turkey to sign with Galatasaray Daikin. The volleyball club ended the season 4th in the Turkish Cup and the Türkiye Kadınlar Voleybol Ligi, as well as 8th in the Champions League.
In 2014, the Serbian player signed with the Polish volleyball club Chemik Police. She played for 4 seasons for the club. She won four times the TAURON Liga (2014/2015, 2015/2016, 2016/2017, 2017/2018), twice the Polish Cup (2015/2016, 2016/2017), and Polish Supercup (2014/2015, 2015/2016). She also played in the Champion League with her best achievement being 4th place in 2014/2015.
Stefana Veljkovic returned to Italy in 2018 and signed with Igor Gorgonzola Novara. She played for two seasons with the club, winning the Champions League and the Italian cup in her maiden season.
Stefana Veljkovic stopped her career in 2021 due to pregnancy and still had not returned to professional volleyball. However, she is one of the most successful volleyball players in Serbia and Europe.
